MAECP Designation Timeline

2024 - 2025

The Commonwealth is pleased to again offer its local secondary education agencies and institutions of higher education the opportunity to obtain formal designation for Early College Programs. Designed collaboratively by the EOE, DESE, and DHE, program designation will entail a two-step process (“Part A” and “Part B”).

Early College Program Designation Application Companion Document 2023 – This companion document is designed to provide important information on the Designation process and requirements, as well as context for the criteria to be met under each of the five Guiding Principles.

End of April 2024 - Part A Application and Letter of Intent Forms Open
May 7, 2024 - "Is Your Partnership Ready to Apply for Designation?" Session for Prospective Partnerships
May 17, 2024 - Letter of Intent Due
May 29, 2024 - 11:00 a.m. - Superintendents’ and Presidents’ Leadership Meeting for Applicant Partnerships
April - August of 2024 - Technical Support Sessions and Office Hours available for Designation Applicants
September 20, 2024 - Part A Application due via Alchemer
October 2024 - Announcements of Applicants advancing to Part B
October 2024 - January 2025 - Support Sessions and Office Hours available for Designation Applicants
January 31, 2025 - Part B Applications due via Alchemer
February 2025 - Part B Applicant Interviews held
March 2025 - Designation recommendations reviewed by the Early College Join Committee
